45 Common Fabrics and Care Tips — Part 4 :Spandex ,Mixed Linen Fabric,Poplin,Voile,Khaki

Spandex / Lycra
Features:
Highly elastic and capable of stretching 5–8 times its original length. When blended with other fibers, it enhances stretch and comfort, but when used alone, it can lose recovery and become slack over time.
Care:
Avoid chlorine-based bleach; iron at low temperature (below 110 °C / 230 °F). Do not expose to prolonged sunlight. It’s best to wash inside out.

Mixed Linen Fabric
Features:
A blend of linen and other fibers, combining linen’s cool, breathable nature with improved softness compared to pure linen. However, it tends to wrinkle easily during washing.
Care:
Hand-wash gently in cold water; avoid long soaking. Iron at medium temperature (150–160 °C / 300–320 °F). Store hanging in a dry place to prevent mildew.

Poplin
Features:
A cotton fabric with a higher warp density than weft, giving it a subtle sheen and a crisp, smooth texture. It drapes well but can develop weft skew.
Care:
Wash inside out to reduce friction; iron at medium temperature (below 170 °C / 340 °F). Avoid wringing forcefully. Hang to dry to maintain shape.

Voile
Features:
A very lightweight, breathable cotton fabric with a soft, airy drape. It feels delicate and elegant but has low tensile strength, making it prone to snags and tears.
Care:
Gently hand-wash in cold water and lay flat to dry to avoid deformation. Iron at low temperature (below 110 °C / 230 °F). Store carefully to prevent snagging.

Khaki
Features:
A twill-woven cotton fabric known for its durability, elasticity, and abrasion resistance. The classic khaki color hides dirt well, but repeated washing can cause fading.
Care:
For the first wash, wash separately in cold water to set the dye. Turn inside out for machine washing to reduce fading. Avoid high-temperature drying; iron at medium temperature (around 150 °C / 300 °F).
