45 Common Fabrics and Care Tips — Part 7:Tencel、Cuprammonium、Modal、Coral Fleece、Polar Fleece

Tencel

Tencel

Features:
A Lyocell fiber that combines the comfort of cotton with the smoothness of silk. It has excellent drape and resists wrinkles well, though its strength decreases when wet.
Care:
Machine wash in cold water; avoid high-temperature drying. Iron at medium temperature (around 160 °C / 320 °F). Hang to dry to maintain shape.

Cuprammonium

Cuprammonium

Features:
A regenerated cellulose fiber with a silky, lustrous appearance and excellent moisture absorption and breathability. However, it has poor alkali resistance and must be handled gently.
Care:
Hand-wash in cold water using a mild detergent. Avoid twisting or wringing. Iron at low temperature (below 120 °C / 250 °F) and dry in a cool, shaded place.

Modal

Modal

Features:
A high-wet-modulus regenerated cellulose fiber known for its soft, smooth touch and bright, colorfast appearance. It’s comfortable but prone to pilling over time.
Care:
Machine washable (use a laundry bag) with water temperature below 40 °C / 105 °F. Avoid high-heat drying. Iron at medium temperature (around 150 °C / 300 °F).

Coral Fleece

Coral Fleece

Features:
A warm polyester fabric with dense, coral-like pile. It feels luxuriously soft but tends to generate static electricity.
Care:
Hand-wash in cold water (below 30 °C / 85 °F). Add fabric softener to reduce stiffness. Iron while slightly damp at high temperature (200–230 °C / 390–445 °F) for the best effect. Lay flat to dry in the shade to prevent distortion.

Polar Fleece

Polar Fleece

Features:
A specially processed polyester fabric that provides twice the warmth of wool while remaining lightweight. It’s soft and cozy but has limited breathability.
Care:
Machine wash at temperatures below 30 °C / 85 °F. Tumble dry at low heat. No ironing needed. Avoid friction with rough surfaces.
