The Luxury of Detail: Why We Obsess Over the “Small Things”

In my 20 years, I’ve seen beautiful jackets ruined by a $0.10 zipper that catches or a button that pops off after three wears.

High-end fashion isn’t just about the fabric you see from a distance; it’s about the details you feel when you are wearing it.

At CdGarment, we believe that Detail is the bridge between a product and a brand.

The “Silent” Markers of Quality

When a customer puts on your garment, they are subconsciously looking for these details:

  1. The “Click” of a Zipper: We don’t just use any zipper. We source hardware with smooth, polished teeth and a weighted puller. It should glide like silk, not scratch like a saw.

  2. Button Security (The “Shank” Method): Most cheap shirts have flat-sewn buttons that sit tight against the fabric, making them hard to fasten. We use “shanked” buttons with a neck of thread, allowing the fabric to sit comfortably behind the button. We also use cross-stitch reinforcement so they never fall off.

  3. The Hidden Reinforcements: We use “Stay Tape” in shoulder seams and “Bar Tacks” at the corners of pockets. You can’t see them from the outside, but they are the reason a CdGarment piece keeps its shape after years of use.

Why “Good Enough” Isn’t Enough

For a startup brand, it’s tempting to save money on trims. But consider this: a customer might forgive a slightly different shade of blue, but they will never forgive a broken zipper.

By choosing premium trims and reinforced construction, we ensure that your brand is associated with longevity. We want your customers to pull your garment out of their closet five years from now and say, “This still feels brand new.”

Simple Insight

Details aren’t just “extras”—they are the foundation of luxury.

At CdGarment, we treat every button, label, and stitch as if it were the most important part of the garment. Because to your customer, it is.
